Amazon fire TV sticks

The only issue with netflix/Amazon etc is the lack of choice. Yeah there's a lot on there, but if you want summet slightly obscure, then you'll struggle. Even top gun isn't on Netflix 😧

I have amazon prime now, but anything decent and still have to pay on top of your subscription. What’s the alternatives just getting sky movies?

The thing that I was always hoping kodi would deliver was, being able to search for a movie for the kids and play without issue, doesn’t seem to happen and amazon want extra for the movies they want to watch, will look at sky movies.

Will have a nosey ( edit lmfao ) I mean cheers lol

My problem would be 3 kids all want to watch something different lol.

I have absolutely no say on the TV these days, if it isn't paw patrol it's some female shite that I have no interest in!

If you're not after live TV and just want movies and TV shows, bin Kodi off and install terrarium. It's just an app on the fire TV rather than Kodi with loads of shite installed

Covenant on kodi still works perfectly for me with movies and tv shows.

I use a paid app for live tv and sport.

Will give that a try, I’m not interested in live TV

Another vote for Terrarium, I've never had Kodi opened since I've installed it. Install an ad free one though.
They don't update themselves though do they. What I like about it is how on top of issues they are and if putting up with a couple of ads gives them money to do that development, then I'll sit through them.

I'm hoping they do a pay option again. They previously had one but it's been closed. If they did I'd definitely pay to remove ads.

I use Terrarium and don't tend to ever use Kodi. All you need to download is APK Time and it's got loads of good apps to install.

I've never really thought about that tbh but I'm pretty sure the add free version I've installed auto updates. New episodes are readily available and I've noticed a pop up window every so often showing that there's X amount of new movies available to watch.

Just checked I'm on version 1.7.6

I’m not sure if my FireTV Stick actually works anymore, I should’ve bought another one during the Black Friday sales tbh

I've got the first 4k Fire TV and it's much much better than the stick, only bought the stick because it was on offer and could get it on prime now, I use it on the 2nd TV at home and it's so slow, and most apps crash if you ask too much and struggles to stream hi bitrate 1080p vids.
Think it'll pickup the new pendant style fire tv over christmas to replace it

The original stick without voice is s**t. Slow as anything but was a cheap way to do things. The new stick is on par with the original TV. Nice and snappy.

Thanks for the heads up, had just assumed to new stick was still a bit crap, doesn't need to be as good as my 2nd gen Fire TV box but something with a processor from this century would be nice

I've got the original stick and TV. You cannot compare the two. The stick is almost unusable compared to the TV.

I have the original and didn't find it too slow but I rarely use it now as I have terrarium and show box on my phone and usually stream it over Chromecast seems the easiest way for me. Might try install terrarium on the fire stick though as the missus still uses it and does complain about Kodi.

Installed terrarium this week on our firesticks....got to say I'm impressed! The kodi was getting super laggy.
Should I be using an IP mask when running terrarium? If so, any recommendations for.a good one on firestick?

Really rate this, smart IPTV app on fire stick (or tv) plus sub

I'm half tempted by an IPTV subscription.

I really want something with a TV guide though. Anyone know of any decent apps to run your IPTV subscription through that give a guide? I'd rather one that doesn't have to be used through Kodi.

Just got a firestick as they were only 30 quid recently.

Don't really know what I'm doing but installed terrarium and when I choose a film to stream it keeps stopping and loading/buffering. Is that our internet or the stick? Or am I missing something?

Id look at changing the DNS from your provider to say Google (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4)

I just went for a lower quality and lower file size stream in the end and seemed to work fine. Must be to do with the internet I think.
