Amp wire to head unit

Hi guys,

im a real novice when it comes to this kind of stuff so bare with me,

I've just connected up my Alpine cde 9880r head unit to my 2001 clio,

Everythings fine, wired up etc expect for the amp wire (the thin blue wire from the amp to the head unit)

Do i just cut this off from my old head units adapter ?(top left)

but then how do I connect it to the new wire? (wire im holding in my hand)??

i just used black tape.. is that ok? safe ?

You need to look at what it says on the headunit see which wire is the remote wire then connect the blue wire from the amp to that.

aye, there's a wiring colour chart sticker on the actual stereo case on my Alpine. otherwise, you might be able to find the installation manual on the web. it's usually a blue wire for the remote switch anyway

if you need to connect it to the lead in your hand, buy the appropriate sized male/female crimp-on bullet connector (probably the small ones with the red insulation - the blue insulated ones are bigger)

alpine current models are blue/white line for the remote lead,connect securely with a bullet/butt connector or solder
