Annoying Little Noise...

  Focus ST
Not uncommon in Clio's I know. But I have this little vibrating noise in the dashboard.

Thinking when it gets warmer, I might remove the dash, tighten up all the screws. Put some rubber down etc. Put it back on.

Anybody else done something similar?? Is it a major job?? :dead:

Mine does exactly the same, when it gets warmer as well I notice it when the blowers are on.
It's a MK1 so completly diffrent but we're united in shitty build quality.

I think it's coming from around my blower vent which does the side windows, but like I said will most probably be two seperate cases.

I did mine last summer - dismantled a fair bit of the interior and tightened up bits. The real bugger was the sunroof - must've put a whole tub of grease on them hinges! No rattles anymore, thankfully.

The sunroof for me it was a hand under roof lining job, trying to avoid the razer sharp metal the French used around the edge of it, with a 10mm spanner - 2 pints of blood later no more rattles.
Until it gets cold out...

I'm planning to remove my 182 dash for the first time this weekend. Apparently it's not too hard (10 - 15 mins). There's a guide somewhere on the forum. 16 screws ...

I've bought some foam and tie wraps in preparation. Also planning to stick the tweeter grills down with superglue as they are the source of a very annoying rattle.

The only thing that worries me is creating more rattles than existed before!!

No real problems apart from one panic attack which came to nothing. See this post:

Take my word for it, its really not that difficult. PM me if you want more information.

I managed to glue the tweeter grills down with superglue and now that rattle is no more! Unfortunately I didn't manage to get rid of all of the rattles ... this is probably impossible when giving it death at 7k rpm with an unforgiving suspension.
