Any ideas on how much for bonnet and spray?

Hi Guys,

It was snowing all the way home, taking it easy as you do. made it home safe and sound. making a sandwich in the kitchen, then BANG.....

bang 1
bang 2

think i need a new bonnet. the rest of the front looks okay, it got wedged under the window but its staying where it is until i can park on the drive without the fear of it moving.

:dapprove:

unlucky mate, what gave? :S

Ps carbon ;)

dont know what happened, it just slid down. seemed fine when i got out, i even gave it a little knock to see if it would move. it was parked with the rear wheels over the top of the drive aswel so thought it would be okay.

dont really want carbon. i dont like the way they look, unless it can be painted? how much are they?

A new bonnet (not genuine) is about £115, expect to pay £100 + for spraying up maybe more. A carbon one is around £250 and yes they can be sprayed to match the paintwork.

guess i'll have to see how much i can spare. thought a carbon one would be more than that. i might look into it if there's any benefit to having one.
guess tomorrow i'll be looking around for quotes.

thanks for the link mrbilly

Mine goes in Monday to be fixed at a professional bodyshop specialising in [amongst others] Renault paints & repairs [not a stealership!]

New bonnet sprayed in Pearlescent Monaco Blue, fitted and if necessary blended in to front wings.

£ 350 + VAT.

Not my problem, works paying the bill, a pallet got knocked over onto my car. C0cks.

Just got me an estimate.
i can have a reno bonnet for 135 or an OEM for 90(whats the difference? quality?).
then it'll cost 170 for spraying or 250 for spraying if the wings need blending if the paint doesn't quite match but he said we'd have to wait and see at the time.
need to add vat on all this.
so pretty much what i was expecting.

its a shame to hear about all this other work that needs doing.

Hi

My car is with renault liverpool at the moment they have quoted me £430.00 for bonnet supplied and fitted, sprayed and including V.A.T.

Got it all sorted. Went to a place called Hinckley Car Bodies. On the industrial estate opposite the tesco warehouse for anyone that knows Hinckley.

£135 for a reno bonnet, plus £170 for spraying.
It didn't need to be blended with the wings in the end so saved a bit there.
£360 inc vat.

Pleased with it. Seem to have done a good job.

was going to say i was quoted £134 inc vat off renault for a standard mk2 ph1 bonnet, and local bodyshop said £150 all in for fit and spray. so not too bad a deal
