Anybody still waiting for their new 182?

I ordered my full fat 182 on the 12th of July from a Renault dealer just before they stated that customer orders for the 182 were about to stop. I was given the delivery date of the 22nd of Sept, however they keep telling me that the order has been delayed.

They have now told me that the 182 has a delivery date of the 14th Oct... which is 3 months since I ordered the car.

I appreciate that August was a national holiday in France... but I'm starting to get really bored of waiting.

Am I being inpatient or are there others waiting?

I'm still waiting, ordered mine on August and orr t'internet and was told mid sept. Now have been told it'll be in UK next wed and should have it by end of the week or early the next week.

join the club, I ordered mine last month ( not as long ago as u ) I was told the same, middle of october. Quote dealer " Hopefully middle october " by that in proper english he means November.

I ordered mine on the 9/7/05 in Artic Blue got a phone call the following Wednesday saying that the only colours I can have are the Black Gold, Titanium Silver and the Racing Blue.

I was gutted but when I went down to the show room to chose another colour my luck changed!!!- My dealer told me the car would only be made in those 3 colours and get this they would only be made with the Cup Suspension Pack and Cup Spoiler Pack because thats all they had left at the factory in Dieppe.
So I got £350 worth of extras for nout!! So naturally I chose the Black Gold to go with Anthracite alloys. The only catch was that because my order was slightly delayed (choosing another colour) by a couple of days I wouldn't get my car till October.

The delivery date is today the 5/10/05 and I should be able to pick it up Saturday (fingers crossed) after it's been valeted, registered, etc. So hopefully I should expect a phone call today saying it has been delivered or knowing my luck it's gonna be another 2 weeks. I bloody hope not!!! Waiting 3 months is been long enough I don't want to wait any longer!

Why do the bloody Frenchies get to get a whole god month off work thats well not fair!! And we could of had our cars by NOW!!!!!

Yep, I aint been wainting aslong as you guys. Even then were giving then 11k for a stunning motor, we could be out playing with it now instead of it sitting in a warehouse!!!!

I've got a Black Gold - wouldn't have that colour again given the choice. It looks awesome clean but really shows the dirt and even hairline scratches in the clear coat are quite noticeable in sunlight (no matter how carefully I clean it I can't seem to avoid them).

get Meguiars body scrub that gets rid of hair line scratches a brilliantly.

I already tried ScratchX without any luck. Decided just to leave it now or else I'll on;y make it worse.

Besides, the dealer did a one of those scotch guard type treatments (can't remember the name but it was a £300 option) on my 182 and you are supposed to stick to non-cutting polish. They did it for free after the clearcoat was damaged by them leaving a big lump of bird poo on it whilst it was in for some work. Dealers, don't you just love 'em?

Yup, carn't agree more about the black/gold. Suppose it's worth the wait... I wonder if I can blag some dimondbrite treatment for having to wait so long

I'd recommend it. Bird poo eats into the lacquer with a day. Marks can be machine polished out (mine was), but no something I'd want to do myself nor very often. I think the treatment on mine is called SupaGuard or something. Knowing my dealer it's probably a load of cr*p LOL

I've got that Supaguard on my current Clio 1.2 16v and i personally couldn't be arsed paying the extra for it. It's good but it aint that brilliant. You can use Meguiars on after market stuff i.e. Supaguard so Meguiars say any way. Bird poop is bloody annoying. I guarantee I get dive bombed within the 1st week of having it!!

I got mine as a freebie. If I was paying I'd go to a specialist place (someone in Evo magazine had it done on a Ferrari and said it was good stuff - not supaguard, some other make).

You're far more patient than I am - after having the delivery date for a cupped 182 pushed back from September to f*** knows when I cancelled it.

Getting a Seat Leon Cupra R (225) this Saturday instead & I now reckon it is a blessing in disguise!

Still respect the 182 though...

I waited around this long same time last year, took twice the 8 weeks they told me.
Worth the wait though. But clean off the bird pooh as soon as it lands, it really eats into modern water based paint.

What colour and where from??? just sold my 225 into the seat network. Just wondering if you got mine.

Be ready for the running costs as well. Is a big difference to the 182. Hence why im in a 182 now. Gr8 cars though!!

My trophy has been delayed. Was mean't to arrive this wednesday but it's now been put back a week. I'm expecting it will get delayed another week after that!! oh well.

Mine's been delayed again. 3rd time. Due 20th Oct. Really p***ed off.
Dealer didn't even bother telling me. I had to ring up and ask where it was.

It is bad when they don't phone you to say it will be delayed.

It will be worth the wait though!

Just go in and tell them you want to cancel as they should of given you a delivery date.

Tell them you have another dealer who is willing to negotiate a better deal and can pull through on it.

Should see them squirm, maybe give you a used 182 they have as a sales car to use till it arrives.
