Anyone Done DIY Fitting Hillpower IK

R

rich[182]

Obviously the silicon pipe, filter in heatshield should be straight forward BUT

How does the heatshield attach to something solid ie metal runner near battery

How is the under bumper scoop mounted + cold feed pipe

Its extra £43 fitted so dunno whether to do DIY or not

Cheers

I fitted mine myself after buying it from one of the guys on here....

It came with a metal bracket that bolted onto the gearbox. A cable tie then held the heatshield to the the bracket. Not ideal, but it works. I think Nick was looking into better solutions.

As for the cold air feed, I havent bothered with it, yet!

fitted mine saturday.heatsheild and filter is one big unit.it has a rubber mount on it that bolts to one of the original airfilter box mounting points.the airscoop fits in a hole in the liner just behind the bumper on the n/s.sounds great and seems to have made it a bit nippier as well.piss of piss to do so do it yourself and save yourself £43.

cheers jay

sounds like saving me £43, regarding the airscoop - are there any instructions or basic diagrams supplied and is there any drilling or fixing screws involved - have you also installed the cold air pipe (assuming it comes with one)

did it come with the new silicon pipe engine side ?

comes with the silicon pipe.i picked mine up so he showed me where it went but im sure he would send you some instructions out.there is a flap in the front part of the wheel arch liner that you remove.the air duct goes in that hole and then you twist it into place to locate it.
