Anyone sure that a Ph2 Steering wheel doesn't fit the Ph1?

I know that the airbags are a different electrical connection, but what about just the mechanical fit? Are the splines and nut thread the same.

The is the Ph1 Vee with a Ph2 Steering wheel on ebay?, so got me thinking?
