Sportlines have improved my cars look and performance loads.

Apex really are cheap for a reason...

I don't think i have a single photo of my car, i really need to get my act together.

Sportlines don't give much of a drop on the sports, 30mm iirc

tbh i think sportlines are quite a harsh ride sometimes although the handling is MUCH better. I wouldn't like to try the ride on a set of apex!

Apex = completely and utterly terrible ride. How anyone can drive a car on anything but a prefectly smooth surface with them is beyond me, they are awful! The car does however look nice when lowered with them.

Sportlines = firm, but acceptable ride. They don't lower as much as the Apex but the ride quality is in a different league!

When I bought my Cup it had Apex on, but they were off within 2 days and replaced with Sportlines.

i have fitted standard springs, apex, prolines and sportlines.

sportlines are the all round winner for drop and comfort by far!

ive had eibachs and apex, now on coilovers, to be honest i wasnt happy with any of the springs they are just a cheap way of improving the look of a car imo. apex 40mm drops car for next to nothing tho. the pro kit is the most comfortable of the 3 but hardly any drop and not a great difference in handling. i thought sportlines and apex were similar.

well on the British roads (pothole central) i,ll have the Sportlines all day long.
My mate has linear springs on his Clio182 and had to change his shocks within 4 months to harsh on them.

Yeah but you cant lower a car and expect it to give a smooth ride. Thats like fitting a monster engine with 1000 bhp but expecting 40 to the gallon lol - theres always a trade off.

And of course he had to change his shocks. Thats no suprise, lowering springs especially as low as 40 will put added strain on standard shocks.

Iv been running Apex for years now on the Clio. Dont personally find them a problem at all. Even turned the Koni stiffness up a bit! The only springs to give a proper drop.

Eibach give the best ride according to folk on here but hardly lower it. To me, probably just as well sticking to stock springs

I had sportlines, they're a fair amount stiffer than the standard springs. I now have Apex, they are something else! Look alright though!

I've got sportlines on mine. Hasn't made that much of a difference to the height or ride quality, handling has improved slightly but the main reason I fitted them was because the rear of my car sat lower than the front due to sagged rear springs.

Can't really comment on Apex springs as I've never tried them or been in a car with them fitted. With them being significantly cheaper than Eibachs, kind of tells you the story though.

He asked about springs, not shocks! On standard shocks, the Apex springs are awful.

Errmm no question, he said his mate had to change his shocks hence the reply back in relation to shocks.... Do you often butt in on posts which have nothing to do with you ? ;)

Apex were fine on my cup for spirited driving but total pash for everyday driving!

Sportlines on my Ph1 172 are just amazing for both!!!!

Gaz!

As much as Apex get slated on here they were superior to the Gaz coilovers I had the misfortune of owning at one point.

GF has just had Sportlines fitted to her Dyanamique and the Drop is not alot but watching her come round corners in my mirrors the car seemed much more stable...... I shall be taking it for a drive soon :)

I'll let you know what there like once I have them fitted (And that is once they have been delivered!)

For some reason its taking ages for them to arrive.

Heres my car on Apex, tbh its a nightmare, handles really well but the roads are bumpy near me and everything just bangs! Sometimes sounds like its smashed the wheel off if you hit a pothole!

Iva had my car on apex springs for about a year,
didnt find them all that bad, but i didnt really have much to compare to.

also the drop on the 60mm springs was really nice.

I must be in the minority but I don't see what the fuss is with Apex, they're fine. My Ph1 had Eibach Pro's and the ride was perhaps 'slightly' less bumpy, not a great deal in it.

For some odd reason, I like to be able to feel the road surface when driving and a pot-hole is going to jar your bones on any Clio suspension tbh. Lol @ the thought that you simply glide over pot-holes and bumpy surfaces on Eibachs.

Kam Racing - £150.00 All in including delivery.

Just realised that I ordered Prolines and not speedlines sorry. I did have my reasons though which will be revealed in time :)

If anyone wondered why they were a bit more expensive.

I guess it depends what you're doing in your car, I like to drive on country roads etc. so I don't mind having Apex as the stiffness makes them handle really well. If you are doing a lot of driving to/from work or motorway/town driving then you might find them a bit crap.
