Try and find a cheap 2nd gen nano, thats the best bet.

Just get a cheap player if she's not bothered. Doesn't need to be Apple. Sony good for sound. Creative and iRiver good for simplicity.

I'd just fork out the extra for a nano mate. You'll still want one even if you buy something else.

the headphones with my 2nd gen nano are indeed shocking! i thought they were great untill all the rubber started to peel off around the edges leaving my ears to get scratched to hell! :nono:

I'm looking to buy the new video ipod so i have a blue 4gb 2nd gen nano up for sale shortly... you might need new headphones!
