Well after putting my valver into Renault to fix the vague steering and get rid of screeching noise when turning the wheel theyve finally got my new rack installed (after nearly two weeks!!). The screeching is apparently down to my alternator working itself loose, shearing one of its bolts and causing the belt to slip. Unfortunately, its going to cost me a new bracket of some sort cause the couldnt get the broken bolt out and a ton of labour - not cheap...
Since i got the alternator fitted at another garage a few weeks ago, what do you think the chances are of getting some sort of compensation of them as my total bill is going to be about a grand!? Would i be justified in going back to them to complain??
