Ariel Atom 500bhp V8 900bhp/ton

The fastest ever timed lap around the `ring` 6 minutes 55seconds in a radical

And that was in a 380BHP 2.6 with plenum, where hoping they try it in the of the 500+BHP models soon!

Crikey...

S/C TypeR is quick enough, first time I drove one of them, I thought the damn thing was going to pull a wheely when i nailed it!!!

Even the NA ones are quick.

We are going to be firing up a nice kit-car project next week....5.6L V8 (forged internals, ITB's etc etc), Dax Rush--should be about 450bhp and 560kg...I think thats going to be pretty unusable, let alone this new Atom!

I take it your using a rover V8 as 450bhp sound pretty low for a forged yank v8. My mate builds hotrods and has one with 7 liter 650/675 bhp small block in it........ it weighs about the same as a fiesta!! Its fully road legal and runs low 9's up the 1/4 mile. His brother (who builds the engines) has a chevy Nova with over 900 bhp and goes up the quater in 8's!! lol They are so reliable at this sort of power that a local TVR specialist is thinking of having some built to have them fitted as a kit to replace the sh1tty AJP motor. Imagine a reliable 700bhp in an 8 grand TVR cerbera!!!!....Good bye Arial Atom....
