AST'd 172cup & Lindleyp's 920kg 172cup and counting!

  ph1 172
I met up with Pete (Lindleyp) at my work today to do a few jobs on our cars.

I was fitting my AST's recently purchased from DannyR. Pete was doing some jobs off his anal to do list he has on his mobile.;) Most of which consisted of removing things!

Not the best pics from me tbh. Just a few of both our cars. Pete has some better ones on his phone which he's going to add later.

Comments welcome.

Really not liking the two exhausts on the 172 (maybe they would look better if recessed into the bumper??)

Other than that some nice shots

Lol cheers

The one on the left is fitted to the car. The one on the right is an orbisoud back box on a block of wood;)

Good shots ali, im gonna weigh it again today see how close I am to my 899kg target, door cards to cime out and tidy all the cables, ill add my oil cooler fix it into here :)

Is that an Orbisound with the heat wrap on it?

That's the best looking system I've seen on a Cup.

Thanks Chris! its not an orbisound exhaust, ive had it custom made, so the tip is angled up so it sits 'right', 2. 4'' outwards rolled tip
(cosworth <3).

Its a 2.5 system all the way through with a silenced decat with the origional lamda senser ports blanked up and new ones on the side of the pipe work to stop it clashing with the floor pan.

yeah 2118s are heavy as sh*t! very strong though. all about reducing unsprung weight for me, im nearlly at 899kg mark.

i love the look of the rotas now, there just different in a good way! i have to admit at first i wasnt keen but soon grew on me and had to buy them from Nick.

liking your trophy by the way, its looking mean!

Right as promised some more pics, first lot is fitting my oil cooler DIY! with nothing more than a metal aluminium strip from b&q, hacksaw, files, drill, hammer and marker pen! bare essentials and working on nothing but initiative.

Also a shot of quick fix braket to move header tank 1'' to the left so my air box doesnt foul the top coolant return pipe, as many of you have sufferd with spilt pipes :dead:.

Havnt made a progress thread but the car was fully standard in aprill, since then ive done all the following.

Nice. It looks perfect!

If I didn't have a 182, I'd be after the same thing myself!

Love it.

Cheers Scottie, Yeah ph1 Oz f1's powdercoated satin black.

There lighter than most sites quote aswell. I weighed some I have in the garage and they were 6.5-6.8kgs. Cheap tyres are a bonus to!
