ATI Radeon X300SE

Does anyone have this card per chance? I upgraded my gf's parents' PC for them and put one of these in, and it is suffering from horrendous moire on solid-coloured backgrounds... has anyone come across this before on an ATI card? It has the latest drivers installed, and the latest monitor drivers (Dell 17" TFT which was running fine on the old PC).

I'm guessing it must be a driver problem but there is no new driver :dapprove: Any ideas? We've also tried various refresh rate and resolution settings, it's worse at lower resolutions.

Ive got this card mate, runs spot on on mine, same monitor too by sounds of it.

What does moire mean though? lol

Hard to describe but basically when you have a solid colour being displayed you get a huge amount of noise on the picture, lots of funny lines/bands fluctuating back and forth across it, makes you feel ill almost!

What make of card is it? This is a Sapphire. I guess the card may simply be faulty, I'm going to speak to the suppliers' tech support dept and see what they think. Which Dell monitor do you have? Although this shouldn't matter as theirs was working fine before.

I daren't ask what you started with if you 'upgraded' to an X300. My laptop has better than that!!
