Not sure if this is the right section to post this - but here we go:
Anyone fancy a day of fun grass roots motorsport? AutoSolo is a great way to test you and your cars ability at close car control.
Farnborough district Motor Club are running one this weekend at Barton Stacey, just off the A303 between Basingstoke and Andover.
I’ve done loads of these, over the last 6-7 years, but not done one in nearly 2 years so looking forward to it!
For those of you who don’t know about Autosolos then take a look here:
http://fdmc.org.uk/autosolos.php
These events are a cross between Autotest and Sprints/Hillclimbs, but are for strictly road legal cars and no special equipment or licenses are needed. In some classes you can even enter at 16 yrs old.
The cost is only £35 (£40 for a late entry). Usually you have to be a member of the Motor Club or one of the invited organisations, which isn’t too much extra and means invites to lots of other events. Apart from fuel, and a bit of wear & tear, it won’t cost the earth.
If you can’t enter or just want to look around, spectating is free, and if you’re feeling enthusiastic you can marshall once your signed on with the clerk of the course.
