Aux belt changing 1.4 16v

  MG ZR 1.8
My reg is bj53 gkv

It's a 1.4 16v

I need to change the aux belt, will I need to buy the tensioner as well? Or just the belt?

Also, how difficult is this going to be to do?

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
should do both. There's a couple of different types depending on Aircon or not and one of them is a pain in the arse

They're not that bad... fiddly but not throw your tools at something bad. Buy the complete kit from Renault though

Early ph2 1.4s have the stupid tensioner which is a pain, laters models, i think late 03 on had the auto tensioner which is nice and easy.

I did one on my old 1.4 53 plate clio. I think theres a threaded hole so you can wind an M6 bolt down onto the tensioner to slacken the belt. Was quite literally a 5 minute job.
