Just spotted in the demon tweeks motorsport catalogue a new addition for the RS Clios.

AVO coilovers are available for the ph1 and ph2 inc trophy.

It's the more expensive setup priced at £900

Will these be any good?

I know a few people that run AVO coilovers on various cars and they always have positive things to say. I have heard of a couple of small issues with manufactured kits but they were sorted with out problem. Would be interesting to hear about thier development etc. Best bet if your interested is to give them a call. I have phoned them before and they are very helpful and knowledgable. I would say thier kit will be on a par with KW depending on specs.

^^ Those are good for the price, but performance wise won't be as good as the AVO's.

They sell them at Tweeks does that mean we get CS discount with them?

Avo's are a reasonable shock IME on other cars, although tend to be more like 500-600 quid normally rather than 900, tweeks arent famed for being cheap though, is there anywhere else stocking the clio fitments ones for less?

£900 is a LOT for Avo's - I think I'd be looking at KW's for that price

They do offer all the refinements of KWs at that price, exactly the same setup as the spax RSX rear coilover I think.

Also KW ain't available for the 182 cup/trophy fitment are they?

I don't think "all the refinements" can be defined as a full rear coilover. There's so many differences in build quality and spring rates.
My bilsteins were technically a very similar price and spec to the KW's i've now got - but build quality is a hell of a lot better on the KW's and the spring rates are far stiffer

But like I have said the KWs are not available for the 182 cup packed cars.

So it doesn't really matter about the KWs as I don't think I can use them without loads of messing about.

£40 - swap front hubs for 172 cup hubs. Done.

£40 for hubs but not posted to near lands end, then £80 for proper alignment and then you might wana fit some new bearings before you put them back in so thats more money!

Once you have the KWs fitted you might as well add a little bit and get some ASTs for the cup packed car which you had in the 1st place, but that then changes the point of going for good mid range coilovers that are usable on road.

I've had AVO before. Ride was OK ish, but they leaked and seized for fun

Would you care to elaborate more on the ride?

Also what car you had them on?

The leaking doesn't sound good but seizing can be stopped by good servicing can't it?

Monotube ones are very good but the std fast road ones are crap... They do 2 and 3 way montube ones and very popular in motorsport circles and well recommended.

You get what you pay for, well i hope so with these Reigers :)

I had AVO's on my old Mk5 ZS, did the job, I was happy with them but mine also seized.

I had the BC's on my first Scooby a few years ago, awesome quality all round for the price. Had Avo's on the Escort Cossie and they're the best coilovers I've ever used.
