Well, got my car back from Ben today (big thanks for opening the place up on your day off!) and I have to say Im well chuffed. Its being tested on standard timing at the moment, but Ben is going to time it to his settings and do some power runs just to see the difference :D.

The quick test drive instantly showed that it was quicker, as I got a dirty great big wheel spin changing from 2nd to 3rd , that was nice :). On the way back it just seems to drive so much nicer and the torque is fantastic... it was enough to seriously ruin an Integra Type R drivers afternoon.

Big thaks to Ben, will be coming back for throttle bodies next :devilish:

Good news matey, suppose ull desperate to get out for a play with the big boys now......:devilish:

nope, never 1/4 miled it before... well, not on a track anyway ;). Will take it to York some time this year to have a go though.

not sure about that yet Gaz! will get me zorst and then let Ben have a play with the timing, as he says it will be miles quicker his way, then I reckon ill have a good go... up until I hit the limiter! It does come around faster now, Ben said he was quite surprised how fast it actually felt considering the timing, so that can only be a good thing :D. Its quicker tho, thats for sure, well pleased with it

Good news fella, cant wait to see it.....and more importantly have a test run to see how it goes!;) Wheel spin going into 3rd sounds beefy though!

Aye mine is the quickest willy 2 in the club..my best was a mailto:14.706@93">14.706 @93 mph run. Dry conditions and a decent start should see you beat that hopefully! May 1st @ York is the next meet + thats the annual 0-60 challenge get yourself down!:D

well, hopefully ill have had it remapd by then, so will have to wait and see. It will take me a bit to get used to it tho i think, having never done it before, my launching method seems to be different to everyone elses... lol

I dunno I think your traffic light gp style looks fine to me...I think donnyo will agree too.;)

hehe, against Northy dunt count tho, he doesnt try too hard, scared of hurting his tyres . yeah, whats happened to Donny, not seen him for a while... need another play with the Cup :devilish:

Nice to have a clean car back eh!!!!!
Even the engine bay lol.

Its going good though, especially for some rather conservative cams which are miles out on the timing. Things can only get better.

yeah, forgot to mention that pal, you didnt have to valet the fooker inside and out you know pal!!! It looks awesome tho, engine bay is spotless!!! Was looking forward to getting to work today just so I could drive the thing

Now for some 1.2 badges, Yoz and Martin style ;)

glad to hear the cars running good jesus...make sure you get print outs before and after the work for comparrisons.

yeah, it certainly pulls much smoother, but it really wants more revs now, just runs out too quickly!

can highly recommend this conversion, cams are sooo good on these engines its a shame they never came with them!
further to add running it on cheapo fuel at the moment...

so how much are these cams and what sort of increase on a standard willy with exhaust, de cat ,filter????

yeah, deffo wanna have a few blasts with people, wanna get a new zorst tho. its soooo loud now with the cams, but it does sound nice from a distance...

Ben, can you upload the little clip of Wayne driving it, as it was still below the speed limit, all perfectly legal and safe :D... even though we did try to tell him to get on the wrong side of the road and go past two cars..., but you kinda get an impression of how loud it is... too loud! lol

lol, sorry bud, i thought i was recording but i wasnt....i only got us going awwwwwwwwwww, he didnt boot it

But its loud.....i cringed as you left the property past the house lol

Yeecup, the cams are not dailed in yet and are on std pullies, when he comes in soon i will do a before and after test for std timing positions and my tming specs. I dont have any data as of yet as these are the first of my mild street profiles to be on a customers car.....but by jesus (dun dun dun PUN!) they work.

look forward to hearing the results, might have to start saving.

LOL @ Ben, I asked you to get the footage too cos I had no clue how to use Waynes phone... good job it recorded something tho. lol

Once these mofos get retimed its gonna be mental! deffo worth it, these are pretty mild to what can be done, but seem ideal on the Williams as most other seem to need more revs to be fully effective.

So you still getting good power low down then Jesus & a decent gain up top yeah?

I was going to change my Willy, but have decided to put the money into engine work for mine........

well, on its current timing Ben said there shouldnt really be any difference really... but 2nd and 5th a a lot stronger it seems, just wants to rev up and go all the time. cant wait til its timed up, then it will be producing some beans.... fastest Williams 2 in the club is gonna be my title :D

Im going for a quick play a rematch against my mates Scoob at lunch, last time it was even all the way upto 4th, no one really made any ground, but it was rolling 2nd gear stuff... if hed have stretched 1st I would have been toast. lol

He thinks im gonna beat him now anyway, so will post some results, vids to be uploaded to WilliamsClio if i get time later.

The cam is very mild grind in terms of duration however the timing events, lift rates and valve acceleration is far more aggressive than any regrind or cams currently available in that mild level.

The cams in their current timing position are currently running next to nill overlap, which means once we open that up, itll breath top end much better. However, its making much more low down that a std williams and pulls from 1500rpm like a train.

The good things is that once the designed timing is dialed in ill be able to compare and set the timing to customer requirements because cam timing essentially just shifts the torque peak about the rpm range.

Well its certainly impressive mate, got some video footage of me Vs m8s Scooby to upload, not here though as it will be frowned upon!

should have it on my PC tonight, its only done from a mobile phone, but PM me if you want a copy people. should have some high res stuff this weekend :D:devilish::cool::D

nice to meet you the other day Jesus...

the car certainly went well, I could hear it up the bypass from the workshop when Ben was testing.

Like it

Andy

yeah ditto mate, hope the car didnt bother the farmer too much tho! it is a bit too loud... going for a quieter exhaust, I swear it was never that loud before! hehe

Nice one sounds great.

Ben - Do you spealise in Clios/Renaults then?

Seems like a lot of people take their cars to you of the forum?
Where are you based?

Can deffo recommend Bens work Mark, even though the cams are not even timed in yet the difference is certainly noticable. The noise is also fantastic when its at full chat :devilish:

Gee, I know Ben does a mean Honda engine... 250bhp :D

Going to pick it up next week around tues/wed. They are 133BHP stock and it has a wastegate, HKS filter and catback zorst so not sure what its running.

Will show it off as soon as I get it! Interior is sh*t mind, but Ill sort that, rims on there are sh*t too, but look at my Clio...this car will soon be looking the part.

But this car is about speed, no flashy looks, so no 17" rims this time

cool, sounds like it will be rapid! sure it will be looking the part soon enough too. you thinking of taking it to Ben to be fettled already then?:D
