Barclays, Virgin, Lloyds TSB & Norwic Union Direct

  Monaco Blue Mk2
All pretty cheap at the minute if you're looking for insurance.
All very quick and helpful on the phone. Unfortunately barclays price after adding mods took it way above my renewal, as did NUD. Lloyds and Virgin both said at least 21 :(

Well I've been ringing round insurance companies since 10.30 and nowhere can do better than my renewal quote when including mods. I'm currently with Quinn Direct and they are happy for you to modify as long as you don't increase power. When I first recieved my renewal quote I thought it was a decent price but I didn't expect it to be the best price available?

Anyone any suggestions of cheap insurers for 18 yr olds with lowered suspension, turini alloys and sideskirts.

Thanks for the reply mate. Tried them the other week mate, no one likes young drivers with cosmetic mods. I'm glad I haven't got any performance ones!
Been using confused and moneysupermarket and then ringing the company that gave the lowest quotes and getting them to add mods (lowered 40mm and side skirts) and they all go up from around £950 to £1400!!
I'm with Quinn Direct and they are really good with mods, no extra cost unless you increase power. My renewal started today (£1100) which I think is quite fair including mods. I still have 14 days right to cancel if I find a better deal.

Tried bell? Didn't seem too bad for me when I got a quote online. I've got 3 points for speeding, I also put ticks in the lowered, alloys, exhaust & induction kit boxes and it came out at around 900 I think, that's with 1 years no claims. I drive a 98 1.2.

yeah I tried bell mate. £1700 fully comp with £500 excess. 18, 1 yr ncb, good postcode, 1.4sport, lowered, side skirts, body coloured bumpers. :( Thats with my mum as named driver to bring it down aswel!

If you can get a cheap quote with the originally then they are good for extra mods, fairly cheap. But as a standard car they want nearly £1500. I've been getting quotes on a standard car for £900 fully comp elsewhere.
