Battery Disconnected - Query plz

  SLK 350
Right had this ABS fault for a few days now so i've decided to disconnect my battery - (negative) to try and reset the ECU and see if it re-registers this fault.

Just wondering the following:

1. How long should i leave it to reset my ECU ?
2. Will i need my radio code again?
3. Will my alarm need coding (standard Sigma job)?

Cheers.

if you're disconnecting the battery you should really take the +ve terminal off too.
1, As for how long I would presume 15 to 30 mins would be enough.
2, The code will be needed if it's the standard renault job.
3, Shouldn't due to internal memory/battery etc.

  Audi Q7, Avalanche
i have no idea as to renaults but with my old BMW, it only took 5-10mins with both terminals disconnected to reset the ecu. the alarm should be fine as suggested as it will have a back up battery and memory or else what would happen everytime you had to change the battery etc... if its a standar renault radio the codes is in your owners handbook

  Polo + Micra
if you really want to do it in about a min

disconnect them both and then touch them together

Alarm isn't a problem. The radio will need to be recodes the number should in in your book.
However your problem won't be fixed I don't thin you've got a faulty abs sensor the only thing to do is pop down to Renault to get them to hook the computer to it and find out which one is wrong.
