Battery Size?

How long should the battery be on a clio 172 02 plate?

The one that came with mine is 8 inches and clearly too big as the intake pipe for the airbox can't be connected properly.

Had the same problem with my ph1 172 couldn't fit the
CAF's to the filter as the battery was to long. I checked
the max length I could use which was 8" long. All I did
was take a tape with me to halfords and checked all
there battery's till I found one that fitted.

Had a look on a website and all there batterys for a 172 where 8 inches long! Which is what I've got on now but is 15mm too long!

I read somewhere else that it should be a 063, but they are 8 inches.....

Well Mr Mark i kind of realised before posting this thread that a smaller battery would solve the problem. But just thought it was strange that if I wanted a battery from several sites on the net for a 172 they would sell me an 8 inch battery. So wondered if that was what size most people had in their 172's and in that case could either my airbox/battery be in the wrong position.

it is an 063 and is 8" inches long

i think your problem might be normal as it's very tight by the top inlet to the airbox. the filter box can be moved a little in its mountings, but not by much. should still be possible to get the hose in and out though

I think I'll try and change the position of the airbox at the weekend.

yeh its pretty close, don't think I can move it any further back due to the length of wires.
