Probably a combination of the awful lag and the fact its based on the bad company engine and it does take a few hits more than in cod to kill someone!

I was on the trial (PS3) for the 30 minutes and thought it wasn't bad tbh, no lag at all this afternoon. Just seemed to lose the tactical element that you get with playing it on a PC.

Worth a punt at £10, though it's nothing on Warhawk!

Well yes a small number of people have obviously been able to play but the fact that EA doubled the servers after meltdown on day one and there still wasn't enough capacity must tell you that most people haven't yet got a game!

Got a few snatches of this lunchtime, laggy but what I could play was immense, really good, just took 3 times to connect and crashed once!

Taking me a while to connect - joining with anyone else a no-no and over 2 hours it crashed 5 times. Not acceptable, especially seems those two hours only resulted in about 30min game play.

Got the trial and had no problems. However I found the sniper class awful to play with...takes too long to go to scope, and then just doesn't seem to hit your target even though you are certain of it!

Another issue is that people, in general, just don't seem that good! I am by no means great at COD but on this I was absolutely rinsing out. The planes are too difficult to drive, and the jeeps have an awkward driving perspective which makes it difficult to see what's going on around you.

Overall, seems fun but not totally convinced by it yet.

Planes are hard to fly for a reason. If they were easy, it would be a slaughter fest like on BF1942. Jeeps, press up on the D-Pad and it will change your view to 3rd person.

Cool didn't know that. As for the planes only had a go in one, and skimmed into the sea! I guess with more practice you get used to the controls though as you say.

Yeah brand I wouldn't class myself as a top gun yet but the planes are easier to fly than when I first entered and skimmed into the sea lol

Again press up on the d pad to get a 3rd person view much easier!

Just got this last night on the Xbox. I played the pc original to death and wasn't disappointed in this version. Highlight for me was running along the island towards the enemy apparently on my own...then two of our planes flew over my head with an amazing sound and bombed the enemy infront of me allowing me to capture the base! The atmosphere is amazing especially when the air raid warning goes off in the distance and you look up to see the bombers coming in!

I got this last night too

Encountered a few EA LOL moments but overall I'm pleasantly suprised.

I hear XBox360 community is a little further toward getting the Coral map than the PS3 lot.

I've bought the game and i quit like it, the plane is abit tricky to fly but abit more practice and i've cracked it took down a few planes myself. the bombs is really hard to land were you want them. i had a head chance and fired with my sniper rifle just like 20 - 30 metres away and he didnt die and took a few shots with the machine gun in the guys chest and didnt die got me fustrated on that. i'm doing canny on the point and kills, no where near my points and kills on 2142, i noticed some one got over 1000 points and 20 kills

. My fav weapen is the sniper rifle wow

TBH this is only fair given the problems encountered, if its not playable on day one it deserves a poor score. Even though its great once 'in'!

Socom: Confrontation was exactly the same, although to be faor it took Slant six much longer to correct the issues.
