Really pleased with my result considering its pretty much standard, well worth the trip up there.

Nice blast with bondys motor on the way back, seemed to me like i was pulling away??!!!!!! Maybe bondy couldnt get the traction down as it was wet?

HA HA!! guess what!! i got the lowest power!!

No Mods 1149cc 16v

Engine Power 76.3 bhp(77.1)- 1.3 bhp above standard

Power @ TW 60.5bhp (16.6% Loss)

Torque 82lbs/ft @3466rpm

Note: My power at the wheels however wasnt the lowest and my torque was the highest for all the 1.2 16vs as well as coming in 2000rpm lower than the "other" 1.2 16vs

MODS: kent fast road cams,stage 2 chip, pbv,k-tec racing full system,piper x airfilter.

ENGINE POWER:149.4 bhp @101/6582.

POWER AT THE WHEELS:115.8 bhp @101/6582.

POWER LOSSES. 33.5 bhp @101mph/6582.

TORQUE. 122 lbs/ft @5993.

Wicked day, well done to the guys who organized it !!

The guys at BB seem to be nice friendly chaps who have nice range expierence, willing to help out with questions. They also give you answers in plain english, which helps.

Heres my results :

Engine Power : 173.7hp @ 95 mph/ 6777

Wheel Power : 150.4hp @ 95 mph/ 6777

Power Losses : 23.3hp @ 95mph/ 6777

Torque : 136 lbs/ft @ 6416

So yes Im pleased, all i gotta do is get the PBV set up on the rollers and that may even give a tad more power.

The car has never taken corners on one wheel before.

Yer the result is good, I was worried that after all this talk lately about if Hill Power is that good. That it would only make 165, but i needent have worried, it all seemed fine.

Slightly dissappointed with my result. Thought it would make a bit more. Had 17s on for the first time but shouldnt have made that much difference.

How special was that turbo!!! sounded the nuts too....I want mine converted now.

Roamer...there were some strong standard 172s and Cup there today so now its up to you next week to keep the Viper/chip end up. Ill be there too but nowhere near it appears.

Yeah on the way home I stopped in a layby and put the new knob on....I thought I had that turbo valver !!!

The decat pipe was an el cheapo from Motormania in Witham....Make is called Custom Chrome.....Part Number CPR-REN. Phone 01376 - 501515.

May take a few days for them to get it, but @ 47 squid you cant go wrong . Remember to get the Kwik fit guys next door to fit it...they chucked mine on for a tenner.



Thing is......I dont want you to get one....my line of thinking is the extra gains youll get will leave me further in the distance .

Well my results are the same as Leighs seeing as I drove...top day out as usual and apart from thanks to everyone who made the effort to come along today, big big thanks must go to BB Tuning for putting on a quality rolling road day, and especially to Ivan for organising the whole thing - nice one mate!

My abiding memory of the day will be going in the wrong pub in Earls Colne afterwards - all the occupants looked like hillbilly retards and the minute we walked in they stopped watching the big telly in the corner and followed our every move! The BB guys came down later on for a drink; just goes to prove they really are a friendly bunch, well worth a visit if youre local and want anything doing to your Clio.

So what do all these facts and figures actually mean?

What do they tell you about your cars?

Well alot of the 172s have a very similar Torque figure - std. and modified - around the 148 figure even though some have higher bhp than others.

On the road std. and modified ones are so close and much of it is down to the start you get and the drivers ability to change gear without bouncing the rev. limiter.

The Cups in my opinion definately produce more bhp/torque than a std. 172 which many people have already suggested.

Also we show maxed out figures and it would be good to compare graphs of similar cars throughout the rev. range to see if some have better torque etc.

I have to beat a time of 10.5 minutes round the big track so if you can keep up (lol) then we will have a proper race. My bro in law Greg is going in his mk2 1.5DCI(60bhp) it will be chipped but you should still be quicker.

Completely standard 1.2 16v with 2,500 miles on the clock

Engine Power - 77.9 @ 84mph / 5652

Wheels - 57.9 @ 84mph / 5652

Torque - 79lbs/ft @ 4129

massive power loss, but due to the car only having a couple of miles on the clock, i can only see this improving
