Bel Euro 550 mounting in 172+false alarms

Hi guys, well, after running round with my 550 installed for a couple of days, I think Im right in saying that the unit really needs to get nearer to the patch on the screen than the mount can allow to get a better view of our fine countrys cameras.

So, anyone got any ideas on how to get it closer to the screen?

Also, has anyone played around with the settings of it to reduce false alarms? apparently you only really need K band in the UK, is this right?

  Skoda Fabia vRS

kinda right, mini gatsos use other bands, im not sure if its Ku or Ka which they can use, it might be both, its X band you wanna turn off

Had a strange one today as I came through Leamington Spa this morning, the display on the 550 started showing "?LO3 CAL" and "?MARKERS" flashing alternately, strange, is this something to do with SWS messages?

In addition matey, cant have too many gadgets now can I? :D

Gotta try and modify the bracket to get it closer to the open block on the screen though, and so that I can see the display (Its hidden behind the Origin BlueI at the mo.

Im gonna have a look round at laser diffusers next year, but thats a bigger job to fit  And sometime I really do need to get round to fitting some ICE.

I have had loads of messages from mine, need to read the book and find out what it means. It bleeps with different tone too??

Any examples dave? Ive can only think the "LO3 CAL" "MARKERS" is something to do with local calibration markers, but what are those? why do I need to know?

I get a few that start with K (different from when the thing says K-Ban or whatever) I know eher it happens so I will watch it tonight and write them down.

Just had a word with Mark @ comtech, and he says the message I got was the software losing its start of program marker.... bugger.... basically a software fault, so, as its only happened once, gotta wait and see if it happens again, if so its a unit swap

Just got the LO3 CAL MARKERS message mate, do you think its anything to worry about. I turned it off and then back on and seems fine now??

Nah, dont worry unless it happens a few times, then if it does, contact mark @comtech and hell swap it for ya, it is known about.
