keep hearing good stuff about C&B's but no one yet has posted any results . . .

all depends what you want to spend, got to remember its worth doing dephaser pulley and belts at same time too

dephaser pulley? lol, clearly a man that likes to waste money

yes dephaser pulley, I hear of no end of them that need replacing at some point in there lives, so why not do it when the cams are out and save money in the long run. Call it wasting money if you like, but more common sense if you ask me

C&B cams plus Henk's custom remap, awesome results. When I got them installed three years ago and posted the pictures, comments were like Colombo what?

It is very nice to see positive comments from the UK based RS users. There are couple of RS's on the road at the moment giving 124-126 kW ATW power figures, including mine, Frank a.k.a. franx... Strongly recommended. Now you also have a rep in UK, JMS.

Stock cams are fine. C&B's will cost you what? 1k fitted? And give 5-10bhp?! Worth it...You call it.

I think everyone knows the f4r engine isn't cheap to tune. but im sure a decent map with good cams will always sell.

unfortunately advertised specifications rarely have much to do with the actual specifications. The only way you'll know for sure is if you measure them both.

Exactly, whats the difference in say having that C&B spec in originals and regrinds? the specs are the same, same duration, same lift, but the regrinds are of a worse quality profile and harsher on the drivetrain.

The difference will be the shape of profile inbetween stated figures, i.e on catcams website you get a duation at 0.1mm, on a different cam this may be different, but still retain the same overall duration and lift.

But you will also notice a lot of cheaper camshaft websites dont tell you this extra info.

This will be the difference between engine dynamics C&B's and Schricks, i expenct the more expensive camshaft will have a better profile everywhere "inetbween" the quoted stats on websites.

  Better than yours. C*nt.
I think it's difficult to say what the best cam is for your car without knowing you and how you drive, because all those pretty numbers mean a great many things! And at the same time (as has been demonstrated above) nothing. Speak to a specialist (sideways danny/Fred/JMS/anyone local in Italy that there is) and get them to understand how you drive and what you want to acheive. Engine tuning can be a bit of a black art for road cars because some people will drive them to the redline everywhere like race cars, and others want it to be more bottom end than top. Be wary of just chasing those that give the biggest BHP gain, because they're usually race cams and unless you're on a track or drive it like it is it'll be incredibly tedious to drive on the road (think Honda VTEC engines with even worse torque).

Sense.
Your speaking it :approve:

Joker, have you chosen yet ? Mauro Bosio at ACARMilano seems a good chap to talk to ;) (for the sexy nasty Italian C&B metal !)

And Ali; they're def worth it (although i ca'nt look into someone else's wallet). My car is making a LOT of power with these, i was also surprised as cams usually are not all that power-wise.

My last RR made 170 (169,6) at the wheels, that's about a small 200 at the fly. Torque, top-end power, everything is there + very much so ! which is weird actually with cams ; usually sacrificing somewhere along the rev range

Check out this thread; my car measured up along Henk's (Fastchip) Clio 3 (197) last wednesday:

Joker , good luck deciding if you had'nt made up your mind yet

(choice made easy eh? ;) )
