Big decision time

  M135i
Bascially, car keeps backfiring, had a new coil pack + spark plugs and its still doing it so likely cause it somthing like piston rings, according to local garage which according to him involves taking out near enough the whole engine, therefore going to cost a bomb !!! decision is do i fork out a bomb to get it back to normal or do i sell it and buy somthing quicker, im 19 now and will b drivin 2 years in couple of month. so insurance will hopfully go down a little. Was thinking of selling up once id been driving 2 years anyway just this has brought the decision up abit sooner than planned ( please say if im talkin shite about my current car this is just going off what the garage have said). What would you do ? I could prob scrape together 4-5k for the car and take a loan off parents for insurance.

Dont forget that when buying a "bigger" car the running costs and parts increase. So dont buy a car you can not afford to repair/keep on the road if something goes bad.

Its that i dont have the money to fix this car and keep it running, im just wondering if its worth spend alot of money to get it back to running normally
