Bird poo

We have a lot of birds where I live, so poop on the car is unavoidable.

Other than PPF or a car cover, can anyone recommend a treatment that will protect the paint?

And yes, I know washing it off immediately is the best way but they collect at least three or four presents a day……..

What do you do if a bird sh1ts on your bonnet?

Don't meet up with her again.

Seriously, I have the same problem. I'm now having to park my car on the busy street to avoid crap getting on it, and I still get crap on it! I've tried those metal cat silhouettes but they do nothing. The only thing that may work are kites that farmers use (Harry Metcalfe used them on his farm and said they work!).

Failing that it's a watch tower and gun.

i always remember years ago pulling up in a layby years ago on the way to a show and a mate of mine was in a Black Escort Cosworth.
While we were stood there he got a load of Bird Sh++e on his car and straight away. gpot a cloth out of the boot to wipe it off. By that time, it had etched into the lacquer!! No idea what they had been eating but, ever since, i am paranoid about damage from birds so I cover my car whenever its stood for a day or so. Itsa the oly way to be sure...................

Its the only way to be sure..... Nuke them from Space!

Sorry got caught up in the aliens reference.

Yep pretty bad. I though I was bad this week at work with Sap + Fluffy Seed things. Like my car was tarred & fethered.

Also remember looking at a Cosworth CS400 with a headlight lense etched with poo mark too. Rest of car mint as only 2 years old. Just eats through anything.

When the Volvo deaded itself I left it parked in Andover for a month. Was covered in birdshit when I got it back, lots of it has marked the paint. I’m hoping it’s something that can be machine polished out?

Doubt it will polish out.

I've got some of these to try

I think I’ve said elsewhere previously, but I had to respray the roof of my old Impreza after I left bird sh*t on it.
Granted the paint was notoriously thin on those. But none the less.

I had a massive poo dumped on my roof last week, not human poo i'll add. I wiped it off although it had already dried and when I washed the car yesterday you could clearly see it had eaten the lacquer. I think I can polish it to make it look better but with the car being old I really doubt it will perfect again. To be honest my only solution is massive paint correction (new lacquer, paint repair etc) or a full blow over and then park my car inside.

Let me know how they go. I think perfection is a bit much to ask but if they’re not so obvious that’s a win for me.

Fortunately they’re mostly on the bonnet so I could always get it sprayed.
