Black And Blue Do The Lake District

Myself and Joe (jrs182) decided to go on a little driving trip up to the lake district as we was told there are some epic roads up there. they didn't disappoint! :)
we left harlow around 3ish on a sat afternoon and got caught in the pi$$ing rain pretty much all the way :( but once up there we had nearly perfect weather with it raining one half day :)
we rented a lodge for the week in a place called thanet well which was lovely and was in the middle of nowhere. perfect as it was 12 mile to the nearest shop along a bendy country road! it really is a lovely place though. we hit all over kendal, windermere, penrith, kirkstone pass, ullswater etc. the views are amazing and if you want to get away or fancy epic road action then its well recommended :) im not that great at doing write ups so i'll let the pics do the talking:

the weather when we left :(

Good write up matey, however I do feel you missed out some very important photos. Like the one of you hanging over the side of the boat for instance. haha!.

Did I recommend you this place Mark or was it ENTIRELY fluke? If so, that's ridiculous!

Pics look awesome, did you find the mountain pass I was talking about? (Haven't read it all yet ).

EDIT: Kirkstone pass, you did! I LOVED that road!!!!!!!!

Very nice.

Me and the wife recently visited the The Lakes, we stayed at http://www.sandhillsfarm.co.uk , did 2 1600ft climbs and an 8 mile walk.

Next trip is going to be a driving trip in my F4R'd R5 GTT and that pass will definitely get some rubber laid down on it :D

Awesome photos too! What camera/lense have you shot those with?

well when i saw that pic of the fridge i could guess that the balmers cider was what joe had bought for the week and mark had sorted out all the rest like eggs, bacon and butter as he gets excited about doing that part

So first off the Clio needed some new rubber on the front, a service and a good old clean before we set off.

I set off at about 10.30am to meet Mark from work at 2 and we set off from Harlow at about 3ish. Arrived at about 10pm after a s**tty drive down with the pissing rain and the boring motorway.
Was nice to finally arrive at the lodge and it turned out to be very nice.

We chilled out with a beer and watched some choice TV.

The rest of the week was a brilliant laugh, we found some epic roads, nice pubs and gorgeous scenery. We had a cracking time.

A few more shots.

Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to find some cracking roads. I covered a total of 1350 miles from setting off from home to getting back.

  Corsa Van. Meh.
Thanet Well lodges are awesome. Me and the Mrs stayed there after Rob's recommendation.

We drove the Kirkstone pass. Although slightly more precarious in an A6 avant.

Looks like you had a good trip. Can't wait for my next trip up there.
