Black Diamond Brakes, thoughts?

  CLIO Iceberg 172
anyone used the Black Diamond disc and pad set up?

its got great reviews around the internet and looks a little unconvential to the usal HC brembro and Ferrodo set up,

the pads are half the price of the Ferrodo's and some of the reviews have said that their stopping power is just as good as them...

anyone used these? care to enlighten me of its good points bad points etc

cheers

I searched the site for info on the pads due to the price and the reviews suggest they are very good. I think I had the most luck searching for 'Predator' (lol), but still not a lot of info.

Would also be interested in the thoughts of anyone that has used them. I was going to go for the Brembo Max discs and the black Diamond pads as the black diamond discs did not seem to be as highly rated as the pads in the reviews I read.

I know the Guy at Black Diamond so have used them on all my cars! I was using the Predator Fast Track on my Subaru Type-Ra Running 330BHP 315Ibft with no ABS and they were the Dogs! I tried the Fast Road and they were not for me! I would say go for Fast Track front and fast Road Rear! As far as the disc's go they are the dogs too! But go with Grooved only just be very careful the first time you go out as that black coating is scary the first few stops remember to bed them in and they will work well for you! I had some New EBC Disc's when I got my Ra and they warped in 5 weeks not good! And I sold the car with the Black Diamond disc's on after many miles of Hard Use and they were still good ;) I have Ferdo DS fitted at the min as they came with the car and they seem good too will try B-D Fast Track next! on the 172 Cup!

how are they biting from cold, (both types of pads) the last thing i want to do is get pads that only bite when hot,

well from what i have been reading and from people with first hand experiance, a lot of "race pads" need to maintain a high temp to maintain braking performace, and so when cold their effectivness is greatly lower than standard pads untill they heat up. what i dont want is to have great braking while bombing around the B roads but when on the motorway and i want to do one sharp stop with cold brakes and have nothing there untill its too late lol,

what i would also like to know is how would these pads compaire to say the feroodos or a red stuff pad, and also might it be better for me to get the BD race bads but get the HC Brembros, or stick with the normal HCB+DS2500 combo
