Black grease all over the inside of my front left wheel?

  Ph2 Clio 172
Just went to take some pictures and noticed black thick oily grease on the spokes of my wheels. On further investigation it is smeared over the inside of the wheel, around the wheel arch, over the wishbone and bottom of the damper.

The CV joint rubber cover looks dry though?

Where is this likely to have come from? Bottom of the shock or has the CV join spewed all its grease out? Likely an easy fix or am I in for yet another massive bill?

CV all day long. Easy fix it you get it sorted sooner rather than later. Probably just wants regreasing and a new clip fitting at this stage.

The car isn't used daily so no rush. Not taking it 80 miles back to my parents this weekend though. What grease will I need and where can I get it? Best to order a new CV rubber cover and clips and just replace the lot? Easy job for a non mechanic with a box of spanners? Not a guide anywhere is there?

CV boot prob slid off, new clip or a cable tie after popping some grease in. I used plain old grease for the tractor :) simples

So if its just lost a clip or slid off its a simple fix, but if its split then its a driveshaft off jobbie to replace the gator? Ill take a look and see if its split or not, and then decide what to do.

Cheers guys

Had the wheel off and the rubber boot is split :(

Not got the time nor the skills to tackle it myself, what should I expect to pay for a replacement boot on the front?
