Black Ph1

I just hope it doesn't cost a fair whack to fix her and that I can still afford some tyres for them.
 
Wheels look awesome Ed.. the 16's look great on the Ph1 IMHO.. Lets hope its not an expensive fix!.. What issues you having precisely?

Here we have oz f1 in 16´s with only 4 bolt holes.

soon i will show u many of them.
 
Bought these two sets of wheels this weekend, if I keep it (looking likely) I'm going to have a bit of a change.

Not sure Tunst, what do you think? The f1's are in the boot, going to drop them off tomorrow so I'd better make my mind up on them. I was thinking black.
 
Yeah black, stealth ftw! and do the turinis an epic colour, like bright green or get a spiral pattern on them :p

Dont go white :dead:
 
Pearl black for the Oz wheels, same as the car. Will look mint.

Bright as fcuk for the turinis, keep it looking clean.
 
No I don't fancy white, maybe play it safe and go anthracite/silver

Dropping the F1's in Bradford Edd;) Look good with some yellow F1 decals:rasp:

Make sure you get some pics up when done. What sort of turnaround are you looking at? And do they have facility to remove and re-fit tyres, or is that why you've removed them..

Yeh that is where they will be heading, I'm going to see if I can get over at lunch time. It normally takes them 2-3 days. You have to sort the tyres yourself.

Yeh I did, sorry never updated the thread about that did I.

The release bearing had packed up making it abit of a struggle to drive. So it was booked in for a new clutch at a transmission specialist. When the gearbox oil was drained they found some small pieces of metal, so it was completely stripped down. A new bearing was required along with a seal.

I got the car back after they'd had it for 3 days and was very happy. But one cold morning I was changing from 4th to 3rd at about 50mph and was met with some resistance. I found it would only do it for the first 4 miles after setting off at 5.30am in the morning.

So I was straight onto the phone to the transmission specialists telling them about my concern. They said that it was very strange and every part had been inspected thoroughly and there were no other signs of wear apart from the parts that were replaced. Now at any old garage I would be a little dubious about what they were saying but as my Dad has known the owner for 10 years I did believe what they were telling me.

I had wondered if it could be the oil, as it only happened when very cold as if the oil was too thick and causing the resistance. So I asked them what oil had been used and he showed me that their system said to use 75w90 on the RS172 2.0 16v. Which is obviously the wrong grade.

I got myself down to Renault bought 5L's of ELF 75w80 and did the change myslef, did the engine oil/filter whilst I was in the pit.

Since then I have deliberately taken it out when cold and the gearbox feels tight and smooth for every gear change. I am 100% happy that there is nothing wrong with the gearbox, but I would advise people to check what oil garages are putting into their 1*2's.
 
Picked these up yesturday, fully refurbed and ready for some rubber. Going away for a week so won't be going on just yet.

I do like the red ones but I think it is time for a change. They'll be up for sale fairly soon.

It is still for sale and I get a txt/email about it most days, but no one has even viewed it. I won't be too upset if I keep it.
 
i was looking at it in the for sale section, i wish i could afford the insurance on it because it would have been mine! such a good looking car mate!

Well I've got these, my red ones and some turinis that will be going for a refurb in the next couple of weeks.

Think i've had 17 sets of wheels in the last two years though, think I've got a bit of a problem.

I've struggled to pull my finger out getting the one set I have on my car refurbed!

Like a women with shoes, but a man with wheels!.. None the less, car is absolutely stunning!

Hah, yeh something like that. But all my wheels don't end up in a pile at the bottom of the wardrobe.
