BLACKPOOL Fitting 172 Exhaust Help

  Monaco 172
Alright guys

Got a ktec supersport exhaust ready to fit on my 172. I've read this is an absolute pig to remove the old and fit the new. Is this just a rumour or is it best to get someone with a better idea to do it? I was planning to do it on my driveway tomorrow with 4 axle stands.

If that is the case is there anyone or places in Blackpool that can fit or does anyone fancy helping?

Cheer

Shep.

For the hassle involved doing it on the driveway it would be easier getting it fitted elsewhere, not to hard tbh just a pig with removing it past the rear beam.

Sounds like a big hassle. Hmmm where's the best place to get it fitted.... Don't fancy generic places like Halford or kwik fit.

Personally I found it relatively easy to change with a jack and axle stand. Undo the two nuts/bolts, then clamp at joint the just give it a pull and wiggle (technical term) and it comes apart. Shame your not closer or I'd have done it for you.

Ahhh cheers mate. Yeah your a bit too far lol. I'll give it a go today and let you all know how I get on. Would rather give it a go myself than pay someone to do it. It's easy to do, I just hate it when car parts are pretty much bonded together and replacing them is a nightmare.

I've not opened my box containing the exhaust yet, do they come with a new exhaust gasket or are they not needed from cat back?

action exhausts wont fit them unless they supplied them well thats what they said when i rang i did mine on driveway with 2 axle stands its pretty easy just got to twist it 90 degrees to get it over rear beam

Fitted a rs192 to my 182 on driveway was not really any hassle. My old one was knackered so I cut it off past the rear beam.

Not too much of an issue to fit yourself, just be prepared to cut the bolts off and you will be fine. I would recommend some high temp silicone to seal rather than the crappy exhaust paste
