Blipper battery

Car  C4 Grand Picasso

How long does the battery on for the central locking blipper last for?

I have had my car for just over a year, the blipper stopped working the other day. I swapped it over for the spare key, only for that blipper to stop working after a couple of days.

I seemed odd that both batteries would run flat at the same time, as I have rarely used the spare. The blipper L.E.Ds dont light up at all.

I drive a Master van in work which has the same type of key, and when the battery starts getting lower, you have to get closer and closer to the van before the blipper works, where as my car keys just stopped working.

Can anyone shed any light on this, I would appreciate any help you can give me (any help at all, I dont even want to drive my car cos Im too lazy to use the key to manually unlock the car).

PS: the word Blipper sounds stupid, is there a proper name for this button.

this happened to me and it was the battery that came loose because i dropped my keys m8!! open it up and push the battery into place again!!

Cheers Iain, both keys now work properly again. I might have guessed that it would be something simple. Thinking about it now, I do have a tendancy to chuck my keys about, I know now to be a bit more careful with them.
