Blistered paint repaired with rattle can......

My previous car my mk2ph1 is currently sat on the drive SORN, the paint had blistered on the rear quarter and the front wing so i decided to have a go at sorting it with no previous experience.

Rubbed down with 400 wet and dry then 1000

Pretty happy with the result and only cost £30 just needs t-cutting and then polishing as the paint is a bit flat at the minute and it needs blending in and a few imperfections buffing out, going to colour code the mirrors next.

looks OK but will no doubt look s**t eventually mate, should of had it done the propa way.

Oh and you probably should have covered the whole car, probably got overspray all over. (I know this from a 1 OFF experience lol)

Thank-you for the constructive criticism. The car is 11 Years old, the "propa way" which I assume you mean a professional body shop would have cost more than the cars book value.

nice try- but why not do it all the way to the tailgate- at least there wouldnt be a sharp cut off on panel...

you will need to flat it with 2000 then machine polish ( ideally) back to a shine.. dont right it may hide the majority of the new paint. but will never look 100%

Not a bad effort. I hate painting, I always go for that one extra coat, which inevitable goes wrong :mad:

yeah thats my plan, ive got some cutting compound and some polish im sure there is DA at work.

Kudos for giving it a go, but it looks a different colour to me?

thanks...yeah looks it on the pics, it was took when it was wet and it needs polishing lacquers not really smooth enough yet, its a good match though. Got the paint code and had it mixed up at a body shop
