Blowing Decat

It seems for the second time the join between my decat and centre section is blowing a treat. So much that the amount of noise coming from the join is greater than the exhaust exits

The garage recomended two things
1. get a custom sleeve made up
or
2. get the decat pipe properly welded to the centre section

Just wondered what people though was the better option?

or just use a good clamp and plenty of black silicone.

i agree though, the standard olive joint is crap.

personaly i would investigate why its happening

something is clearly wrong and not working

defo dont weld it as come mot time im sure you may regret it

Looking at other threads and the fact i used exhaust putty on the join over the weekend I am now wondering if it is the Mainfiold - Cat join aswell as the de cat to centre section so...

Would the fact I was a cheap skate and didn't buy the gasket kit when I fitted the decat be anything to do with it?

Nooo, don't buy that kit, be way better off with genuine or one that sideways Danny sells.

Also the white exhaust putty is shut and probably half the problem.

A bad gasget on the manifold side shouldn't blow that much that it's louder than the exhaust.
