Blueflame exhaust - any good ??

not sure if any of you guys remember my original post, but I was moaning about the bore of a custom exhaust I had fitted and the fact that I thought it was sapping power:-

http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=131407&page=2&highlight=5k+kick

cut a long story short, I found the other day the it was blowing where they had welded on the backbox hanger - not only that, the fitters must have noticed it when they fitted it as they had filled the hole with exhaust putty !!

anyhow, I will be removing the system and returning it for a full refund asap and possibly contacting trading standards depending if I have any problems.

I would like to know however if these "Blue flame" systems are any good and how loud they are in comparison to the original system.

It seems like a good price and the bore is 63mm, but I am getting my local garage to fit it so was conserned that the chap at blueflame said that the MK1 and the MK2 172 are the same ?

has anybody fitted one of these themselves ??

oh and any sound clips ?? pictures ??

thanks

stop exhuast. as above when on full throttle its loud. A local garage fitted mine and made a pigs ear of it. manly because they didnt have a spare exhuast mount. If you get one make sure you get a halfords universal exhuast mount as the standard isnt strong enough. It fits really well unlike some other aftermarket ehxuasts.

i got mine done at blueflame. is quite loud on motorways but isnt like a nova with a dustbin exhaust type thing. sounds good. only thing i a bit iffy with is the way the back box sits quite low and will be even lower when i get my apex springs put on. but looks smart tho.

i fitted mine myself and i love it, was not much of a problem all ligned up gud, just had a prob with my decat blowing but i have had that welded up now.

just fitted it - lovely sound and much better than the custom jobbie that I had fitted. I was quite supprised as the 63mm bore makes the 50mm look like a pea shooter but is actually quieter ??

I was supplied with 2 rubber mounts ? I am right in thinking that I need to chop out the renault rubber and squeeze this in ?

I am finding also that it is catching the heat shield a bit - can this just be removed or does it actually serve a purpose ?

thanks
