:rasp: Hello all names stephen finally seen the light and am scowering the net on the hunt for either a 172 or a 182........can u point me in the right direction regards to what to look for and whats better......the 172 or 182????(awaits in house squabbling) please be kind and are the reviews i read true about them being really shoddily built???? i await your reaction with abated breath

172 / 182 pretty much the same. Won't notice the difference real world, in my opinion... I prefer the 7 because I don't like the exhausts sticking out of the back of the 8.
What to look for? Belt changes, bown rear shocks and rotten standard exhausts are as good a place to start as any. On the inside a lot of them have ripped grips and worn alcantara. Plenty around so be picky.
Shoddy build quality? Don't be daft, they're French - solid as a rock. Not like these awful Japanese or German cars... Oh, wait...

LOL cheers mate its took long enough for a reply im liking the sticky out exhausts.......and i will be picky because as you have said there are enough of them.....read about a hundred reviews and they range from best ever to worst ever!!!!!!!!!!

I've had a 172 and now own a 182 . It's basically the same car .
As you've already commented on , the 182 has the twin exhausts . Plus they have different , nicer lookin' wheels imo . Personally i prefer the look of the 182 over the 172 . Go for whatever your budget will allow .
The majority of the 182's came with at least one of the cup pack options . i.e. anthracite wheels and slightly lower cup suspension . Front splitter and cup spoiler .
