Bonnet heat sheild...

Ive asked around and done a search on this one and there seems to be mixed views about removing the bonnet heat sheild, so i'm hoping to get a definitive answer (if there is one) :S

Does removing the heat sheild under the bonnet cause it to warp when the engine gets hots or damage the paint in any way?

I'm looking to clean up my engine bay today and removing this makes a big difference IMO.

It's not a heatsheild. The black felt isn't, anyway.

Nope. It's sound deadening, more than anything.

lol, that was one of the first things that got thrown out of mine.

Me too, but it has affected the paint on the boinnet (although you'd have to look very closely to ever notice it - I have!).

It's sound deadening mate so removing it will make your engine sound that bit louder
