Brake Pad Advice

Think i need some new pads.
Brakings been feeling a bit dull for a while now and earlier they sounded louder than usual. (They have done nearly 20K miles so I think i've pushed it enough)
Where is the best place to go and have them done? Would go to Renault but i probably won't get booked in till sometime next month and i don't fancy being ripped off.
Don't want anything special, just standard ones would do fine.

Yeah, checked that out earlier. Just want a standard set of pads.
Any direction you can point me in?
Like i said, i'd rather not get bent over by Renault.

Any way i can easily check how much more of the pad is left?
Just worried i'm gonna hear metal on metal soon. Is it easy enough to see if i take the wheel off?
