Hi,
I have the ABS, service light and brake warning lights intermittantly appearing together. It happened 3 times last week, but when the car had been stopped and started some time later, they had gone.
I have read up on these warning lights which suggest it may be a fault with the brake pedal switch. My car is still in warranty (only just though) and if this was the case, is it covered?
I have spoken to Reno and the car is now booked in for them to check this out. I recently had a 36k service done about 6/7 weeks ago and they advised me the brakes needed to be done, but that the aux belt was in good condition and said it didn't need changing. (even though the service books advises it is changed)
I chose not to let them do it because of their prices so the pads and belt were done just after xmas by somebody from Cliosport. I have absolutely no doubt that the work was done correctly by somebody who knew what ther were doing, so I don't think for a minute the warning lights are associated with the work he's done.
Reno are saying that because they didn't do the brakes, it probably win't be covered under the warranty - is this just a cop out or can they do this? I did purchase some kind of additional warranty anyway when I bought the car so if Reno won't do it for free, it may be covered but I'll have to check. I'd much prefer to get it sorted when it's with Reno - can anybody confirm if it should be covered regardless of what work I've had done?
Many thanks
