brake problem

Took my car for the test again and failed for the drivers side brake being only half effective as the passangers when you throw the brakes on the passenger locks up where as the drivers continues to rotate and doesnt lock up at all,

Would a new caliper solve this?

tryed cleaning the pads greasing the carrier up for the pads, think the piston is seized.

Forgot to mention the car has been stood for 15 weeks aswell

you tried bleeding it?

could be simple air lock

yeah i have had the caliper off it does brake but just not enough anyone ever stripped one down might have a go, or any way of releasing while on the car

strip it, its only a piston and a seal.....

master cylinder leaking?

dead easy to strip down, the piston will be manky more than likely.

I find nail polish remover with a bit of paper to be the best non damaging way to clean up the piston. If its secerly pitted etc then bin it.

Also you will never fine a re-seal kit, if the old seals are not damaged they are fine to re-use.

I prefer kitchen roll. More surface area. I go through a lot as well.

I also ho to Makro and buy the big blue and white paper towel rools. The blue stuffs in actual sheets on the roll, its tough. teh white stuf you need to tear which is an arse and itsa lot more absorbant but not as strong.

How sad am I! lol

Get one Ben my man. Tell them your an engine specialist then tell them what you will mainly buy, eg cleaners, cans of juice or whatever. I used to work for them them (get 10% off everything if your an employee) told em to feck off but I have a card for my Business somewhere (CHR Chris Hall Racing! lol), my mum and gran have one for their imaginary pet shop (Catz & Frogz) and my mum also has a business one for her work (HAA Design).

Costco is actually better value but makro 5 mins away from me.

Go to trade card register.

Fill it out, you dont need to VAT register as you need a turn over of 55 grand for that.

Take it down to the local Makro and sort it out that way.

If you cant get one you can get a day pass.
