brakes help needed

  BMW 535D

few days ago i was driving along the motorway and my brakes completely went, no pressure in the pedal, foot went to the floor, no braking whatsoever

so i took it to local garage and they said needed new rear calipers, discs, pads etc cos id lost a pad somewhere and the piston had popped out and was grinding against the disc so air had got into the system.

so ive just had 2 new calipers, 2 new discs, pads, flexi hoses and the likes and my pedal still feels very spongy like theres very little pressure behind it.

the garage have checked my master cylinder and drained the system and they say thats ok, doesnt need a new one

the bloke reckons i should choc my brake pedal down and leave it for the nite to make sure all the air escapes from the system

so ive wedged it down and am leaving it for the nite.

but if this doesnt solve it what could it be?

cant really say from here, but still sounds like air.

Check for leaks, air, was the caliper really the problem?

where does the bloke think the air will go i wonder.

May possibly be the new pads havent beded in yet so giving you the spongy feel but most likely there is still some air in the system that needs bleeding out.

Lets hope you didnt pay him for this crap advice!..........If its a air lock it needs bleading. New pads bed in after just a few miles so I doubt it will be that. Try bleeding the brakes first.

sounds like they need bleeding again(there must be a small amount of air still in the pipes)
