Brakes making a whooping chiming sound...

My brakes are about 10k or less in, have about 4-5mm meat on them,

Havent checked the inners for wear but i would think there ok.. the brakes are making a whooping sound, like a metallic note sound at slow speed... they are working perfect as far as i know...

Thought i needed new pads and the wear indicator was chiming but theyre still good for many miles..

Take them out, copper slip the backs and rub the material side on a house brick?

Or just check there ok... and carry on driving like a man?

cleaned them with brake cleaner.

I would take a look at the inner pads, this is the pad that has the wear indicator, right? The pads do not always wear at the same rate. Other than that, rust, dust etc. may be stuck to any of the pads and gets cleaned off once you are rolling.

Ok mate cheers, i might just change them, i filed a tiny bit too much off the side of the pads and they rattle a bit, they've been perfect until now... im wondering if ones sticking and constantly touching the disc making the noise...

I shall investigate... would glazing of the pads make a noise? i do give them some punishment sometimes, but glazing would mean the brakes wouldn't work as well ? so ive half ruled that out...
