Brakes playing up...

They function fine, and the car stops well. However, at low speeds it feels as if the pad is loose or like it is letting go of the disc then grabbing again, like when abs is working overtime, make sense? If i need to replace, can anyone recommend a decent set of discs and pads up front?

Had this on mine.. The brakes where ever so slightly warped, causing a 'slow shudder' type sensation when coming to a stop, replaced my breaks and pads and sorted the problem.. try KTec they have some good sets knocking about on there, the Brembo High Carbons seem to be a good choice.

Hope this helps ;)

No, not warped discs on mine. I've had them before and that's more like a pulsing effect through the pedal that changes with road speed. This is much more like ABS cutting in (both in sound and feel). I can feel the brake pedal suddenly depress slightly when it cuts in. I'm thinking that it's either the ABS rings or sensors.

Yeah i agree, it does feel more like the abs cutting in, if its sensors, will cleaning them help or are we walking new ones? if so, how much do they cost, anyone had it done?

I've been thinking... I had a CV clip come off a while ago (about the same time as I noticed the brake problem come to think of it). The inside of the wheel and hub area were covered in grease. I cleaned it off the best I could and found that I could easily move the ABS ring. Should this be a tight fit? Has the grease lubricated it or is it split? Or is there grease on the sensor?

My problem is 100% the abs kicking in at low speeds, sub 15mph, im sure it is...Anyone had this and rectified it?
