brakes "thumping" and burning the disc black

  Monaco 172
My rear caliper sometimes makes a thumping noise when travelling ovr the carrageway it is alot more noticeable.

its had new pads, fluid and the discs are only new this year. it only happens on one side.

any idea what the craic is?

hopefully you can see what i mean by burning the disc
sounds like a problem with the piston or the handbrake arm. whip pads out, carefully spray WD/etc behind the piston dustcover, wind in and carefully pump out repeatedly until it's free. make sure the handbrake arm moves smoothly through entire range of travel; take the boot off to clean and re-grease if it doesn't
