Break pad changing on a 1.4 16v

  ph2 172
After 44,000 miles I think I finally need new break pads and to save money me and a mate were thinking of changing the pads ourselves.

Just after a bit of advice really. Is it easy to do? and is there anything specifically to watch out for?

My car is a 53 plate 1.4 16v Dynamique

Cheers guys
Much appreciated

Dead easy to do.
Halfords £17 for some FDB 845's and then bleed the system with some new good fluid see here though for more info.

If thats not enough info do a search for posts by me with the word brake there should be a load of topics in one of them (possible the above links) there a guide or two as to how to chnage them.

Cheers Edde, your a star mate.

Another quickie, Im trying really hard not to score the discs before saturday when we will be changing the pads but how do I know if I have scored them too much already and if so will I definitely need new discs?

Might as well get new disk £50 from Halfords (make sure they sell you the right sizzed 259mm ones not the 238mm ones as they always do).
To check the disk either look for deep scratches if there are any where the pad and disk contact chnage them. If there a lip on the disk ie its different thickness on the inside bit where the pad doesn't touch the disk and where the pad and disk touch change them. I get about 2 sets of pads to one set of disks but if I intend on hard driving I change the disks every time I change the pads.
