breather hose?

Hi got an induction kit which consists of two bits (the filter and the funny breather bit mk2 ph1 1.2 8v), and started my car up and the breather bit was smoking? is this normal or what? smells of petrol. should i just replace it my old air box or what? thanks

Have you got a 90 degree elbow connecting to your airfilter ? Something like the Hillpower that have a connection for the breather hose . If not you can get a small breather filter for the end or some people just let it dangle down the engine bay towards the ground .

yeah ive got excatly that second Alloy Base to Atmosphere Crankcase Breather Filter. but its sorta smoking! im guessing its natural? just checking if its harmful of not?
