Brick Acid is the future!

a few people on D/W have found that this stuff works rather well at the back of your wheels to get them ubber clean!

im not 100% happy with mine! i have cleaned them a few times now! but theres still the odd little bit on the inner spoke that wouldnt come off with normal cleaners (im talking very small amount)

Peoples thought please! cheapest i can find the stuff is about 5.00 from Focus! but that for 2.5 ltres - i wouldnt mind just a trial of some of this stuff! LOL

This stuff is LETHAL, i used it on some metal balls and it took about 1-2mm's off in 24hrs

do you think its to scary to have a go then?! mine really arent that bad but would be good if i could get them perfect! I know nobody looks at the inner spokes! but i just cant get them perfect!!

Well that was soaking them, im sure with a soft cloth and applying it carefully it will be ok, perhaps start off watered down. Just be weary of it tbh. and make sure you dont get any on you, it burns...

wast of time and effort doing 182 inner spokes as they are such a rough finish you cannot seal them for easier cleaning next time you clean , that acid wash will eventually eat into your spoke everytime you try and get it perfect, mine are like yours, the HSC i used last time is as strong as feb acid but i would only use it on stinking wheels to get the worst off.

make sure you rinse it off fully and use soap to neutralise it. We use sulphuric acid at work which is what some brick cleaners use at 1-1.5% (we use 95%pure)

LOL MR TURNER, i know, no wonder i wake up in the middle of the night screaming wheels,wheels are mucky, waking the gf up ftw!

Less is more option if your going to do it but really ive never had to go to those extremes are the wheels really that bad or are you just being anal

I've been using it for 8 years and its bloody brilliant.

I've been telling you fairies to use it for bloody ages and everyones scared. Its fine as long as you don't let it dry.

How do you apply and remove this ?

Do you just put some in a spray bottle and spray on.
Leave on for a few minutes.
Then wash your wheels with your usual bucket,wash mitt and chosen car shampoo and then rinse and dry them ?

And how safe is it to use (meaning if any gets on your tyres) ?

Get a bottle of fairy power spray, leave it on there for a good half hour and that removes most of the cr*p....
Better than using this hardcore acid stuff that'll eat into the floor!...

LOL, its probably more agressive than a bar of soap, but not as bad as the acid stuff!

ive invested in some acidic tesco wheel cleaner (for a bargain price of 2.00) lol

on D/W there are some great reviews for this product so i thought id give it a go on my rear spokes! next time i take my wheels off again! when it actually stops raining! ill report back! :approve:

i used hydrochloric acid diluted obviously on my old 182 wheels. used ot just brush it on with a paint brush and then leave for 30 seconds. then i'd use a soapy bucket and sponge and wahs it off followed by jet wash and then a second wash with soap.

came up awesome tbh. never had any issues... but i could see how people could get it wrong.
