Most people, I notice, that when broken down they stand either outside starring up the road waiting for the flashing recovery van or about a thousand yards from their vehicle! (Safety maybe?)

I expect the engine was simply so gutless it couldn't muster enough power to pass through the wind so promptly gave up.
