Burpspeed Version 2: Race Car Build

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
PROPER attitude to clubman racing as always Tony. Commitment to tryin hard but humour not tantrums when it goes wrong. Shame all racers aren't a bit more like yourself!

Pictures to follow shortly from the day (If they're any good!).

Shame about the 2nd race, but Quali and race 1 were spot on fella, you should be proud!

Thanks guys.

As Jay said, the car was built to detail on the bit's that matter. Pretty doesn't make it go any faster, not that I want to drive around in a shed, but you get what I mean.

It punched well above it's weight yesterday, it shocked a few I believe. :)

Here's a few pictures I got from the weekend, nothing amazing though.

This race was a mix and match Mark, not an official French Trophy race. So it was a free for all.

Yes we are doing Mallory and Donington.
Donny is in October, and is a 3 race meeting :).

Is that the one that was described as a btcc spec Clio??? I remember seeing pictures of it in a thread on here somewhere assuming its the same one?

Yes, correct. It is the factory ex Collard touring car, he was well gutted, and the Teg behind was over 300bhp!, so the little beast was going well indeed.

Yep, European Touring Car. Sadev sequential box, running about 230+ bhp when we spoke to Matt Potter the owner. Nice car, shame the TDF wiring loom meant no brake lights ;)

Lol at me in photos 3 and 4, for clarification I was sorting Tonys harness. Not trying to sit on his lap, as much as he'd like me to do that :)

The guys owned it 10 years apparently, only just got it 'ready to compete' with. Nice guy, though his arrogant mate is not so.

Was funny to see a 230bhp touring car Clio with a Sadev and a turbocharged 300bhp Honda Integra struggle to shake a rather simple road converted clio race car!

In response to Meek - It does, it was great to see two clios at the front of the grid, with such mixed metal out there. The owner was a nice guy, and Tony, him and the Integra were having some good tussles at the front in both races. Good racing.

Congratulations Tony cracking result, they may have all that power but at the end of the day they've still got to be driven.

Regards Russ......

I would certainly recommend it for fun racing, that's for sure.

On the Podium, they wanted us to shower the Champagne, we all agreed, stuff that, it's for drinking.

Well done mate! Is the car OK? Wish I had been able to make it but I have just got home (from working in Turkey). We are out with CSCC on Monday 6th and there are another 5 Clios out with us. I might do french trophy Combe in my 106 as I dont want to risk missing Thruxton 6 days later in CSCC in the Clio.

I think the "rather simple" road car has long gone!

Got to watch this from about 3min. MK2 Escort out in full forest spec with some tarmac tyres chucked on. He had great fun.
