Hi all, cars off the road for the winter and I’m bored so thought I’d start a build thread,

So I picked this up around the middle of September, getting three different lifts off friends and from my door to getting back was around 15h round trip 🫠, was in no real rush though. Seller was brilliant, open and honest which is a good job cause I had no real way of getting home if it was a dog lol.

After a really good trouble free drive home there was obviously some things needing attention on the car so I’ve set about sorting it.

Headlight adjusters not working (fixed)
Heater servo not working (fixed)
Rear calipers and carriers binding on (replaced both with new units)

Next on the list is new wheels, I’ve bought some but not sure what the fitment is like an the tyres are too big for a start so going to put some 195/50/15’s on instead of the 225/50/15’s that are on them just now.

Also wanting to remove the interior sticky plastics and get them hydro dipped in carbon to match the other bits already done. Anyways enough waffling, here’s some pictures 😎👌🏾

Ah yeah, I wanted to trim the front plate down to match up with the line on the bumper but never got round to it yet. I don’t mind the font though, usually run the metal pressed plates so might go back to them

So, test fitted 2 of the wheels, which are 15x7.5j et30. Always knew they were going to be a snug fit, as said above I’ll be putting 195’s on but wanted to see what they look like, and oh my…. Wish I could keep the tyres on but with no steering I don’t think it would be up to much on a drive 😂.

Also looking at fitting a decat, I’m sure I seen a post the other day about needing an angled adapter for the lambda sensor? If anyone can shed some light on it that would be great. Thanks

You can use isopropyl alcohol to remove the sticky residue from the interior trims, then either leave them, get them sprayed Matt black to look OEM or if they absolutely have to be carbon you could get them carbon skinned by someone like this lad

'hydrodipped' fake carbon looks awful, like that fake carbon sticky back fablon you used to get in Halfords 20yrs ago

Yeah that looks 10 X better in fairness. I’ll maybe look him up and see what the crack is there. Thank you 😎.

Looks very clean. Agreed about the plates, ruins the whole look!
Yeah I’ve ordered my standard font metal plates now 🫣😂👌🏾

Fair play mate, it’s your car! Just my opinion that pressed plates look alright on old cars or ‘scene’ cars but not on a Clio.
